shadow work x human design | excavating the self center
In Human Design, the Self Center governs our sense of identity, as well as our ethics, morals, and values. (If you’re brand new to human design, start here to learn more about the Self Center, and how it feels when it’s open and when it’s closed) 🖤
Here are some Shadow Work Journal prompts to consider as you’re going through the de-conditioning process with this center…
Both Open & Closed Self Center:
What identities have others assigned to you? How have these projections shaped how you view yourself in the world?
What identities do you claim for yourself? Which identities are an affirmation of how others view you? Which are a direct rejection? Why?
Closed Self Center:
How do I personally define integrity? How does it feel in my body?
What are my core values? My religious/spiritual beliefs? My world-view? What experiences shaped/informed them? How have they evolved or changed over time? Why? How do I experience shifting/evolving beliefs?
Are there times or situations when it’s harder to put myself in someone else’s shoes? When it’s easier? How does this ability to empathize or seek understanding impact my relationships and how I walk through the world?
Open Self Center:
What conditioning have I received about who I am? About my personal style? About my ethics/morals/values?
How do I see myself? How much of that was/is informed by those around me? By my parents' expectations? By my friends' expectations? By my romantic partners' expectations? Where have I changed how I was to please or mirror the people I care about?
What conditioning have I taken in about personal growth and evolution?
Over the next few months, I'll be sharing where to look in your chart and how to engage with what you find to get the most out of your Human Design experiment. But if you're ready to get started NOW, join the catalyst | fire community. This work is our focus for October & November.
